ISA Winter Sport Champions

Last Saturday, 10 Chev teams competed in the ISA Winter finals. Proudly, 6 teams were crowned ISA champions. Congratulations to the six Chev teams that won their respective ISA competitions.

  • Boys Football 13s won 2-0 against Blue Mountains Grammar
  • Hockey Junior As won 1-0 against Barker
  • Netball 2nds won 34-32 against Redlands in a nail-biter
  • Netball Junior Cs won 35-27 against Redlands (see match report below)
  • Netball Junior Ds won 25-16 against Oxley
  • Rugby 14s won 24-17 against Oxley

Netball Junior Cs Our team went into the Finals with determination and confidence. After a close loss to Redlands in our last meeting, the girls entered the game with a healthy respect for the opposition. Chev took an early lead and remained composed as Redlands counter attacked repeatedly. Each time the lead was cut down, the team kept their heads, showed patience and control to pull away again each time. By the last quarter, we were able to put on a run of goals to put the game away and secure a great Finals win. A great team effort with cool shooting under pressure from Annie, Charlotte S and Charlotte B, leadership and control in the midcourt from Eryn, Maddie and Ruya, and rock solid defence from Daria, Emily, Jessica and Yvette. Well done team!

Congratulations to the other Chev teams that came runners up.

  • Boys Football 2nds lost 1-2 to Blue Mountains
  • Boys Football 15s lost 1-3 to St Spyridon College
  • Boys Football 14s lost to Blue Mountains Grammar in penalty shots after 1-1 in normal play
  • Junior B Netball lost 15-46 to St Andrews Cathedral School (see match report below)

Junior B Netball After a great, come from behind, season, the Junior B Netball team were proud to make the Final. Unfortunately, the excellent SACS team were in top form, and despite the determination of our girls, dominated the game. Despite the loss, the team can be proud of their effort this season, have learned so much and are already looking forward to next season.
