ISA Semi Finals

ISA Winter Semi-Finals – Sat 12 August

Last Saturday, 18 Chev teams competed in the ISA Winter semi-finals. There were some mixed results.

Congratulations to the 10 teams that progress to the finals this weekend. We wish you the best of luck. All of Chev are behind you.

Football – Boys 2nds

A great win against St Spyridon 3-1.

Football – Boys U14

Great 2 nil win against St Spyridon.

Football – Girls 1sts lost 4 nil to Oxley

A good game for our team, very disciplined and controlled the game 80% of the time. Ella L kept a level and professional head under trying circumstances.  Many outstanding performances by Sarah R, Sienna K, Lily S, Heidi A, Miranda F, and Gabby G. All the girls did an outstanding job and there was on very proud coach.

Hockey – 1sts

1-1 draw

Netball – Inter A vs Barker lost 28-60

Barker were too good for us in the Semi-Final. It was great to make it this far.

Netball – Junior B vs Oxley won 32-17

An excellent game against a higher ranked Oxley side. Chev played a defensive first half, restricting Oxley’s goal shooting ability while taking a narrow lead. This pressure was telling as it frustrated the opposition who responded with increasingly risky plays allowing our defence to secure many turnovers. Chevalier’s attack ran away with the game in the third quarter scoring 13 goals to 2 and putting the game out of reach for the opposition. Chev then went goal for goal in the last quarter to hold off any chance of a counterattack to achieve the upset and secure a place in the Final. Of special mention, Sophie M was rock solid in defence and Eloise B, amazing in attack. The shooters were accurate and confident, supported by the whole team in one of the best displays of courage and teamwork of the season.

Netball – Junior C vs Barker won 36-12

A dominant display by Chev against a talented Barker side. The team worked beautifully together in both attack and defence to hold level against an early game rush, then pull ahead and away the rest of the game. Every player contributed to a magnificent team effort which Barker just could not compete with. Special mentions to Emily S’ aggressive defence, Eryn H and Maddie C electric in the mid court, and Charlotte B shooting a team leading 14 goals. A great effort by the team who are pumped for the Finals.

Rugby – U14 vs Scots All Saints won 15-12

Nail biter. 12-12 at half time and 12-12 with 1 minute to go. Chev received a penalty and took shot for goal. Won 15-12 on the full-time whistle.
Charlie F 1 try, Ari K 1 try, 1 conversion and one penalty kick.
