Summer Sport Round 3

Finally! We had a picture perfect morning for Summer Sport. Everyone always seems to be happier when the sun is shining and there were plenty of smiling faces on Saturday morning at Chev. There were lots of games of Cricket, Softball, Basketball and Touch Football.

The Softballers finally had a home game against Central Coast. The Central Coast 1st Girls have discovered a new pitcher who played really well and restricted our girls’ hitting and run scoring. The Chev Juniors finished ahead by 3 in a tight match.

Chev Softball Juniors enjoyed the perfect playing conditions with a 3 point win.

The Junior Cricketers bowled really well against Mittagong to knock them over for only 22 runs. Unlike last week, the Chev boys didn’t lose a wicket with Henry M. and Rohan D. opening solidly to get the required runs.

Our 1st Cricketers put on a good batting performance against Oxley scoring 168 with Nick C. and Will W. the best of the batsmen.

The Chev bowlers and fielders restricted Oxley to 104 with Kurtis A. and Brendan H. the best of the bowlers.

The Basketballers at school had a great morning with all the Chev teams winning.

The Girls 1sts were down by 20 at half time but a great fightback saw an exciting finish and a Georgia G. free throw with seconds to go was enough for a 1 point win. As well as Georgia G, Georgie M. and Sarah B. were Chev’s best.

The Inter Girls had a good win against St Andrew’s with Ashby L. and Arabella W. starring.

Both Chev Junior Girls had good wins against Barker and Central Coast.

For the Junior A’s, Grace B. top scored; and for the Junior B’s Amelia D. was Chev’s best.

For the boys at Chev, it was the 15B team who played really well against St Pius X. Lucas H. and Lewy O. played well in a good team effort.

The Touch Football Girls enjoyed the warm sunny conditions as opposed to the wet, muddy conditions they played in over the past few weeks.

Good results all round and coaches were impressed with the application of their teams.

Here’s hoping for a continuation of the good weather next week.
